How it Started

“WHen life gives you lemons, make the best damn lemon cake & MARTINI you can!”

My name is Chef Fontasha Emanuel, but family and friends call me Tay or Cupcake ( a nick name given by my close circle of friends when I first started baking).I am the proud Owner and Head Chef of Tipsy Tastebuds Dessert Bar. I was born and raised Brooklyn N.Y, I have a bachelors in Finance from thee luxurious Allen University, after graduation I moved back to NYC to attend The French Culinary Institute where I received my Diploma in Pastry Arts. I am also a proud 10 year veteran of the US Coast Guard, where my passion for baking was born. While serving in the Coast Guard I was deployed to New Orleans to assist with Hurricane Katrina. The things I saw and experienced while deployed gave me nightmares which was later diagnosed as severe PSTD. So to help I started baking instead of sleeping. The smell of freshly baked cake help calm those mental battles I faced everyday. Baking brought me peace.

While enjoying a glass of Patrón Pineapple, my glassed tipped over into my bowl of powdered sugar, which in turned created an amazing glaze for my lemon pound cake. Tipsy Tastebuds was born from a beautiful mistake. Since then creating amazing desserts with a twist of your favorite liquor has been my passion!!
